happy new year 2008

To All,

Happy New Year 2008!

I'll be on leave on Monday. Will be back on 2nd January 2008.

Canon MP160

yesterday, go back to pc fair at klcc to buy all-in-one printer for my sister as she needs to print and do her work. manage to get it at RM245. after surveying for hours this is the good price i can get, while others offers RM249. the normal price in the brochure state RM288, worth a buy. i've survey epson/RM248, hp/229, lexmark/175 and brother/199. since i do some testing and search found that everything just the same. buy canon because good reputation and because the copier and picture printing quality guite good. it has also hav a usb port for pictbridge which easier for me to print directly from my canon camera to this printer. brother is also good, but the button is not very influence to me because the button made from rubber which i think in a long term the button would damage.

see that most student/people carry lexmark because it is cheaper but the reason i didn't choose it because if u want to use the copier function it is compulsary to on the pc then u can use the copier. but with this canon if i want to use the copier function i just on the printer and just push the copier button, no need to on the pc. in other say, maybe they see that the lexmark is the cheapest but they did not realise that u hav to on the pc to use the printer.

yesterday manage to leave my place for awhile going to klcc convention centre to see what is going on there for this August PC Fair edition. if i'm not mistaken, hav leave follow this pc fair show for about 3yrs. would like to know what happen.

reach there at about 11.15am. seems that some of the booth are still in setup mode. walk away thru all the booth and looking for HWM booth to see what is going on there. heard that they are giving away altec lancsing speakers for their subscription.

well, found HWM booth at the end before exit at Hall 5, know that is HWM booth because see many people line up there and i just go inside the line and be the 52th person in the line. phew! the subscription is RM144 per year and i state to start from september issue as this already august. until my turn up, manage to get the speakers. the ads shown that the speaker worth RM188. beside HWM booth is PC.Com booth, would like to subscribe to but didn't bring much money that day, so just return back to the office and install the speaker. test the speaker with transformers soundtrack and nirvana album, sounds good compared to my previous sonic gear which is just the speaker but this altec lansing comes with woofer box. this is good.

CCNA

Well, let me start with what i am doing right now

Now, i just started open book to study this CCNA. what is CCNA? CCNA is a shortform for Cisco Certified Network Associate. Why? why i'm taking this? yes, i want to just upgrade myself to another level which i have been stuck in the same position for the past 5 years. i thought that maybe after i have this cert maybe i can get better grade, or maybe look for another job which can pay more.

What is CCNA Cert?
The CCNA certification indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam.

for more info about what is CCNA all about you can just google it yourself anyway
